The WES project will run for 2 years duration and will support unemployed adults 19+ in receipt of JSC/universal credit through a key worker support model. We will also aim to recruit adults that are over 50 years as this is an age range that are long term unemployed with little services or programmes that support them in the way that this project would. The location Wes will be taking place is relevant as it’s within the targeted areas for the PEAT project.
The project will be based at Burntwood Community Centre, Church Mount, South Kirkby WF9 3QS. However, some training and interventions may be sourced that involve travel in this case we will ensure travel arrangements are provided by to reduced financial impact on beneficiaries.
WES will break down barriers and increase their employability. Through engaging unemployed beneficiaries through key worker support, to identify barriers to employment this could be for example a financial, training or health issue they are facing, or lack of opportunities that they are eligible for but not aware of. We will ensure beneficiaries are linked up with training opportunities, employers and support agencies that can support them to overcome barriers.
